Watch and Listen

Do you see Him in the rising sun, sure to rise everyday?
Do you see Him in a freshly cut cantaloupe, not missing half, but whole, just as the last?
Do you see Him in the seasons that come and go yearly, all the same?
Do you see Him in the neighbor that shows up unannounced?
Do you see Him through the anger, when things just don't pan our right?
Do you see Him in the home you cleaned on hands and knees?
Do you see Him at the register when the cashier makes a mistake?
Do you see Him while driving, stuck in traffic, making you late?
Do you see Him in the heat that beats down on your face?
Do you see Him in the spouse that can't communicate?
Do you see Him in the letter that was written out to you?
Do you see Him in your past, having held your hand the whole way?
Do you see Him in the teen that wrecks your new ride?
Do you see Him in bird that is perched outside your window?
Do you see Him when the cancer becomes more than one can stand?
Do you see Him at your work, were frustrations have no end?
Do you see Him?

Do you hear Him speak when He says no more?
Do you hear Him speak while arguments seem to penetrate the walls?
Do you hear Him speak when sorrow has no end?
Do you hear Him speak on the streets, mixed with world views that are not of His?
Do you hear Him speak while you lay in bed, praying for more?
Do you hear Him speak through the daily buzz that occupies our time and mind?
Do you hear Him speak and allow His words to set you free?
Do you hear Him speak during the bad times, as well as the good?
Do you hear Him speak?

Are you watching?
Are you listening?

Be still.
Be patient.
Be open.
Be available.
Be His.
Be Free.

 32 “Now then, my children, listen to me;
   blessed are those who keep my ways.
33 Listen to my instruction and be wise;
   do not disregard it.
34 Blessed are those who listen to me,
   watching daily at my doors,
   waiting at my doorway.
35 For those who find me find life
   and receive favor from the LORD.
36 But those who fail to find me harm themselves;
   all who hate me love death.”

Proverbs 8: 32-36
